YELLOW RICE





Preparation of YELLOW RICE: 



Ingredients: 
  •    Rice - 3 cups
  •    Onion, finely chopped -  1
  •     Lemon - 2
  •    Ginger and garlic chopped - 200 gms
  •    Coriander powder - ½ tbsp
  •    Haldi powder - ½ tbsp
  •     Chili powder - 1 tsp
  •     Peanuts - 100 gms
  •     Coriander leaves - a bunch
  •     Salt to taste

For tempering:
  • Chana dal  - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp (optional)
  • Mustard seeds - 2  tsp
  • Red chilies - 3
  • Curry leaves  - 1 bunch

Method: 
  • Heat some oil in a pan and saute the mustard seeds, Chana dal, Urad dal ,curry leaves and the red chilies
  • Put onions in the oil and saute them properly.Add ginger and garlic and saute.
  • Put chili powder, haldi powder, peanuts and coriander powder to the oil and let them blend with the mixture
  • put some salt to taste and put the coriander leaves.
  • Boil the rice separately and keep them in a plate and allow the rice to cool down.
  • Put the lemon juice to the rice and then temper the mixture to the white rice.Saute carefully for 2 mins.
  • Ready to serve hot.  

Tip: 

  • When  you have few time ,then you can prepare it in a pressure cooker.
  • Just you have to not cook the rice beforhand .
  • You can fry washed rice with  the tempered mixture.then cook it in a pressure cooker with lid closed for 2 mins till it is about to whistle. 
  • Simmer  down it for 15 mins.open it after gas is been released.
